Suoxiyu Nature Reserve is adjacent to Zhangjiajie
National Forest Park and has many well-known places of interest. Among these are the stunning Bao Feng Gorges
featuring the so-called 'Four Wonders' - Yellow Dragon Cave This
is actually a system of limestone caves that includes an underground stream, a waterfall, ninety-six passageways and thousands
of stalagmites and stalactites. The village of Wangcun, which is better known as Furongzhen,or
Hibiscus Town, after it was the location for XieJin's 1986 film of the same name. The film, adapted from the novel by Gu Hua,
portrayed how the political turbulence of the 50s and 60s unsettled the lives of ordinary villagers and is probably Xie Jin's
best film. It turned the town into a tourist destination; unfortunately, as is often the case, the stone streets and wooden
buildings came out much better on film than in real life.Today, the village has little character and most of the buildings
are so dilapidated that it seems the whole town could well slide into the river and only remains propped up by the tourist
trade. It was built in memory of Wang Changling, a famous poet from the Tang Dynasty. It is an important cultural relics reserve
